In order to broaden interest and participation in the Van Sinderen Book Collecting Prize competition, the Van Sinderen Committee is requesting design proposal submissions from undergraduate graphic designers for a poster and digital image announcing this annual prize.
Due to the University’s response to COVID-19, this year’s competition will take place entirely online.
How to Submit
Proposals should be submitted in two formats.
- Poster (8.5 x 11 inches, vertical or horizontal) for posting on outdoor bulletin boards
- Digital image (1284 x 670 pixels, horizontal) to be used on the Van Sinderen website. Image can be either static or animated.
Entries should be submitted in jpeg, png, gif, or pdf format and emailed to Maura Gianakos at email@example.com.
The deadline for submissions is 5 pm on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
A prize of $500 will be awarded to the selected entry. If your submission is chosen, you will be asked to meet remotely with the University Printer, and you may be asked to make minor text and design changes to your work. You will also be asked to create a suite of digital ads and will be compensated an additional $150 should you decide to take on this design work.
You should plan to meet the production deadline of Friday, October 15, 2021.
The committee reserves the right to decide not to award a prize in the event that none of the entries seems suitable to the competition’s objectives.
